The Spar Tavern – 2121-2123 N. 30th St., Tacoma
The Spar Tavern is located in the Antoine Davis Building in Old Town Tacoma which was built in 1916. It was first known as The Spar Restaurant and The Spar Lunch Room, but by 1937 it was listed on the city registry as a beer parlor and the name was changed to the Spar Tavern. Over the years, portions of the building were occupied by the Lumber Handlers Union and the Fair Price Market, but The Spar Tavern endures as one of Tacomas’ favorite historic watering holes.
