This statue of Sarah Bernhardt sits near the entrance to Opera Alley at 765 Court C. It depicts the famous actress, who, in 1907, performed at the Savoy Theatre which was located in the building that is now the Passages Building. Located between 7th Street and St. Helens, another historic building that lines this intimate corridor is the Ledger Building, once home to the Tacoma News Tribune. Visionaries Ruby and George Chambers have brought back to life an area that now is home to a thriving community of cafés, boutiques, art installations and salons.
