Wright Park Fisherman’s Daughter Statue

In 1886, the Tacoma Land Company under the leadership of Charles B. Wright, donated the land for perpetual use and purposes as a public park. Over the years changes and additions occurred such as the construction of Bird Lake with its bridge, island and This Fisherman’s Daughter Statue. This statue was likely among the statues collected by Col. Clinton P. Ferry during his travels in Europe in 1891.  Other statues donated by Ferry Include the Greek Maidens, and two white stone Brussels Lions located at the 6th Avenue entrance.
