Bob’s Java Jive- 2102 So. Tacoma Way, Tacoma WA
Constructed in 1929 as the Coffee Pot Restaurant by Veterinarian Otis G. Button, this uniquely shaped building is world famous. It was built in sections on the tideflats and assembled on location, making it one of the world’s first prefabricated buildings. It was purchased in 1955 and renamed the Java Jive after a famous song by the Inkspots. It has long been known as “Bob’s Java Jive.”
